How To Get Your Home Ready For the Spring Market

IT’S NO SECRET THAT SPRING IS THE MOST ACTIVE TIME TO ATTRACT BUYERS FOR YOUR HOME. EVEN THOUGH THERE WILL BE A LARGE INFLUX OF BUYERS DURING THIS TIME, YOUR HOME NEEDS TO LOOK ITS BEST AND BE MOVE IN READY.

Declutter Now:  Since the holidays are over, now is a great time to start decluttering your home. Remove all personal photos, remove items from your built in shelves and remove items from your kids rooms that they don’t use daily. The idea is to allow buyers to see their own furnishings in your home and not get distracted with your personal belongings.  Less Is Best!

Kitchen & Bath Conditions: Your kitchen and master bath are selling features of your home.  Take a look around and make sure the cabinets are in good shape. If you have stained cabinets that are in rough shape, try using Old English Scratch Cover to cover the knicks and scratches. This product can transform your solid wood cabinets and it only costs a few bucks. For painted cabinets, find the old paint and touch up the dings and chipped paint. Replacing brass fixtures is a great way to update your bathrooms.

Interior Paint Colors: Browns and yellows are out! Take a look around your foyer and main living areas. Do you have bold colors, browns, yellows, wallpaper, or a lot of faux painting?  Unfortunately, these are no longer popular with today’s buyers and it is best to repaint the main living areas prior to listing your home.
